Product description
About the Book :- This book has written by the author for the most part in camp among the Santals on the borders of the Santal Parganas, make no claim to give an exhaustive account of the Santals and the Paharias, and of the country they have made their own. This book also in some measure faithfully portrays this interesting land and its peoples, as they have been and they are today, they will have fulfilled their mission. The author further reveals that the kind reception accorded to ‘Chota Nagpur’ a little-known Province of Empire, leads him to hope that a similar interest may be evinced in this discourse. A long series of monographs, gazetteers, district histories, settlement reports, and like bears unmistakable testimony to the same sympathy with the people. The same spirit of research and the same capacity of appreciating the picturesque aspects of an Indian landscape that have inspired this fascinating book. It contains also 21 illustrations to make it more interesting for the common readers.
