मौलाना अबुलकलाम आज़ाद की लिखी हर तहरीर यूँ तो ग़ैर-मा’मूली है, "फ़हम-ओ-तदब्बुर'' का मरहला उनकी निगाह में बहुत ही फैले हुए मा'नों में होता है। इन शब्दों के नैसर्गिक भाव (जमालियात) को जितना मौलाना ने समझा है, हर किसी की पहुँच वहां तक मुम्किन नहीं है। ज़ाहिर है, "फ़हम'' अगर दिमाग की रौशनी है तो "तदब्बुर'' से रूह (आत्मा) प्रजोलित होती है। मौलाना की तहरीरों में नफ़्स-ए-मज़मून (विषय वस्तु) को जानने की कोशिश दर-असल ज़ेह्न को ज़्यादा रसा करने की कोशिश है।
