Product description
About the Book:-The Present Volume comprises the lectures given by me in the university of Rome, during a period of four years. The Volume contains the pictures used in the form of lantern slides to illustrate the lectures, pictures taken in part from various works of research mentioned in this volume. Acknowledgment is gratefull made to the scientists and scholars whose work is thus referred to. The first chapter, which is very long, contains an outline of general biology and at the same time biological and social generalisations concerning man considered from our point of view as educators and thus furnishes a complete organic conception which the remainder of the book proceeds to analyse one part at a time; the chapter on the pelvis on the other hand is exceedingly short but is completely covers the principles relating to this particular part, because they lend themselves to such condensed treatment. About the Author:- Maria Tecla Artemisia Montessori (1870 –1952) was an Italian physician and educator best known for the philosophy of education that bears her name, and her writing on scientific pedagogy. At an early age, Montessori enrolled in classes at an all-boys technical school, with hopes of becoming an engineer. She soon had a change of heart and began medical school at the Sapienza University of Rome, where she graduated with honors in 1896. Her educational method is in use today in many public and private schools globally. Frederic Taber Cooper Ph.D. (1864 –1937) was an American editor and writer. Cooper was born in New York City, graduated from Harvard University in 1886 and obtained an LL.B. from Columbia University in 1887. On November 29, 1887, he married Edith Redfield in New York. Edith's father Amasa A. Redfield was a New York attorney and author. In 1888, he was admitted to the New York Bar, but promptly abandoned the practice of law. Returning to Columbia, he obtained an A.M. in 1891, serving as an associate instructor of Latin until 1894. In 1895, Columbia awarded him a Ph.D. and he became an associate professor of Latin and Sanskrit at New York University until 1902. Professor Cooper was the editor of various periodicals, including The New York Commercial Advertiser (1898-1904), The Forum (1907-1909), and for a short time of the New York Globe. He died in New London, Connecticut, shortly after returning from a trip to Europe on May 20, 1937.
