Product description
Neeraja's poetry is simple, direct, yet universal. From the coming of age, Dangal, the question of thirst, women's special, Walkeshwar, Dronacharya, Dhritarashtra, Draupadi in Mahabharata were the subjects of her poetry. Mahabharata has spoken about all the people once and for all, then what is left to talk about? But when Neeraja's Draupadi writes the haunting line, 'The shrill red-red flesh of a raven with loose hair', the contrast of that tragic horror, the incongruous terror of the annihilating sneer, evokes a kind of compassion, yet a strong reluctance. She writes easily about God, 'God bear the burden of death' read the brilliant line to the blake comedy absurdity that she sees two or more things at the same time in radically different ways. Of course, the poet sees something different. But in the current concept, the poet's view of the system has changed... More pointed, deeply wounding, but still commenting on everything from God to riots, Neeraja's poetry is connected with everyone. She writes something very elusive, heartbreaking like '...and in the body of the child, the rain is sitting forever!' Neeraja's poetry has this creative power.
