About the Book:-This Historical sketch is mainly based on two Persian works the Mirat-I- Sikandari for the earlier portion up to Akbar’s conquest (A. D. 1573), and the Mirat-I-A’hmadi for the subssequent part (A. D. 1573-1760). These are the two most authentic of the Persian histories of Gujarat, and were compiled by men who themselves and their fathers before them held high positions and were actors in the scenes descrided. Author had also borrowed both from local tradition and from numerous other works prominent among which are 1. Grant Duff’s history of the Marathas, 2. Elephinstone’s history of India, 3.
