Sharma, (b. 1957) is a Senior Education Officer in the Central Board for Workers Education, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India at Siliguri. He did his M.A. (Sociology and Social Anthropology) from the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, West Bengal. He did Ph.D. from the same University. His area of interest is Industrial Sociology, Political Sociology, Himalayan Society, Sociology of Indian Tea Industry, Ecology and environment and Labour Education. He has already published seven books to his credit. Among the publications, The Himalayan Tea Plantation Workers, Sociology of Indian Tea Industry, Agony of Plantation Workers in North-East India, Tea Industry in India: An Introduction and Socio-Economic Life of Cinchona Plantation Workers in India are very important academic publications. Presently, Dr. Sharma is actively engaged in an academic research project on The Eastern Himalayan Society. Shri T.C. Das (b. 1950 ) did his M.A. (Economics) from the University of Guwahati (Assam). He is Additional Director in the national headquarters of CBWE at Nagpur. He has already published a book named Agony of Plantation workers in North-East India. He has also published a journal named ‘North-East Mirror’ when he was the Zonal at Guwhati. Presently, Shri Das is closely associated with various activities of CBWE at Nagpur.
