ABOUT THE BOOK:- Ecology is the scientific analysis and study of interactions among organisms and their environment. It is an interdisciplinary field that includes biology and Earth science. Ecology is as much a biological science as it is a human science. Human ecology is an interdisciplinary investigation into the ecology of our species. Ecosystems are habitats within biomes that form an integrated whole and a dynamically responsive system having both physical and biological complexes. A food web is the archetypal ecological network. It is hoped that the present edition of this book will be beneficial to all concerned of the society, in general and students, lawyers, advocates, academicians, human rights institutions, researchers and NGOs working in economics/environmental studies field, in particular. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Dr. Rakesh A. Joshi (MA, PhD) is working as Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat. He was completed Master Degree in economics from Bhavnagar University (1988) and awarded PhD from Saurashtra University in 2001. He taught economics during 1988-1998 in various Government colleges, of Gujarat. He Participated and presented papers in various National and international Conferences/Seminars. He also delivered lectures in Orientation and Refresher Courses organized by Academic Staff College, Saurashtra University, Rajkot and Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration, Rajkot. Under his supervision 30 students got their M. Phil. Degree and 9 students got their Ph.D Degree. Dr. Sukanta Sarkar (MA, PhD) is working as Assistant Professor in Faculty of Management Studies, ICFAI University, Agartala Tripura, India. He did bachelor and master degree in Economics from Tripura University. He was awarded Doctorate Degree for his research work on socio-economic changes of rubber tappers in Tripura. He qualified UGC-NET Exam in December/2006. He presented many research papers in various seminars, conferences and symposiums. Various research papers have been published in foreign and national journals. He also previously worked as visiting lecturer in National Institute of Technology, Agartala and Tripura University. He has research interest in various topics like agricultural crisis, Urban development, women empowerment, sustainable development and social problems.
