I hope that the book will be useful for economic students and you as the general readers will also find it worth reading. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Author Mr. Ashok M. Gadkari who is BA (Economics), LL.B. Degree of University of Bombay and since he was working in the international Bank, he also is Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers and also Associate of Institute of bankers, London. Author joined the National & Grindlays Bank in December 1961, he assumed the responsibility as Head of foreign Exchange Dealing operations and Government Securities operations. He also worked as Chief Compliance Manager and handled Mutual Funds operations, Custodian operations, Credit operations and foreign exchange operations under Exchange Control Regulations. He also worked as Project manager for automating foreign exchange dealing operations and government securities dealing operations and installed both automated systems successfully. He was a Faculty member in International Training Centre of the Grindlays Bank and was doing auditing the foreign exchange dealing accounting operations of members participating in foreign exchange dealings Bourse Course. He also completed the Bourse Course successfully which is brain storming course for 45 days. He also made presentations on FCCL (Foreign Currency Ledger accounts) in Bourse and other international training courses. He took voluntary retirement in December 1999. He then joined Times Bank in January 2000 as an Assistant Vice President and assumed the Mid Office responsibilities of foreign exchange dealing operations successfully. He was in Times Bank for about 15 months. Thereafter he was a Consultant in Thomas Cook for about 12 months to establish Mid Office of foreign exchange dealing operations. After retirement, he also did social work and worked since 2004 as Treasurer, Hon. Secretary and Chairman in CKP Samaj, Chembur/ Ghatkopar for last 15 years.
