Abount the Author- मौलाना अल्ताफ़ हुसैन 'हाली' (1837-1914) ने उर्दू अदब में उर्दू-तनक़ीद की शुरूआत की। नस्र के साथ-साथ नज़्म में भी इन्होंने काफ़ी कुछ लिखा है। 'यादगार-ए-ग़ालिब' के अलावा 'मुक़द्दमा-ए-शेर-ओ-शायरी', 'मुसद्दस-ए-हाली', 'हयात-ए-सादी', 'हयात-ए-हाली' वग़ैरा इनकी अहम तख़्लीक़ हैं। 'दीवान-ए-हाली' के नाम से इनकी तसानीफ़ का मज्मूआ भी शाए हो चुका है।
