कविता जगण्यातील सूक्ष्म आणि गुंतागुंतीच्या अनुभवांवर आधारित पाहिजे. तिचा गाभा भावात्मक आणि ज्ञानात्मकही पाहिजे. कविता अंतः प्रेरणेतून आली पाहिजे. कवितेने व्यक्तीकडून समष्टीकडे, खाजगीपणातून सार्वजनिकतेकडे, जगण्यातून जीवनाकडे जाताना विचार, चिंतन, आधिभौतिकता, तात्त्विकता यांचा आश्रय घेतला पाहिजे. कवितेने माणूस आणि अचेतन, माणूस आणि निसर्ग, माणूस आणि जीवसृष्टी, माणूस आणि माणूस यांच्यातील व्यामिश्र नात्यांचा शोध घेण्याचा प्रयत्न केला पाहिजे. कवितेने भाषेच्या अंतःस्तराचा वेध घेतला पाहिजे. कवितेच्या भाषेने विस्मित केले पाहिजे. कवितेतील शब्द संघटन व रचना अकल्पनीय असली पाहिजे. कवितेतील सूचकतेने आणि संदिग्धतेने वाचकांच्या कल्पनाशक्तीला आवाहन केले पाहिजे. कवितेचा सुरुवातीपासून शेवटपर्यंतचा प्रवास अनुमान करता येण्यासारखा असू नये. ही सर्व अस्सल कवितेची लक्षणे असतील तर प्रभा गणोरकरांच्या व्यामोह या संग्रहात यांतली बहुतेक लक्षणे विखुरलेली आहेत… Poetry should be based on subtle and complex experiences of life. Poetry should take shelter of thought, contemplation, metaphysics, philosophy while moving from individual to collective, from private to public, from living to life. Poetry should try to explore the complex relationships between man and the unconscious, man and nature, man and life, man and man. Poetry should explore the inner layer of language. The language of poetry should amaze. Word organization and structure in poetry should be unimaginable. Allusion and ambiguity in the poem should appeal to the reader's imagination.
