میرزا علی متخلص بہ لطف نے بعہد مارکوئس آوف ویلزلی گورنر جنرل ہند، اردو کے مشہور سرپرست مسٹر جان گلگرسٹ کی فرمائش سے علی ابراہیم خاں کے فارسی تذکرۂ گلزار ابراہیم سے مع اضافوں کے اردو زبان میں جو آج سے ایک سو پانچ برس پیشتر کی سادہ اردو نثر کا ایک عمدہ نمونہ ہے 1801ء میں تصنیف کیا، اور 1906ء میں شمسالعلماء مولوی شبلی کی تصحیح و تحشیہ اور مولوی عبدالحق صاحب بی. اے. کے ایک عالمانہ مقدمہ کے ساتھ، اردو زبان کی خدمت کے لئے عبداللہ خاں نے حیدرآباد دکن سے شائع کیا اور دارالاشاعت پنجاب کے رفاہ عام اسٹیم پریس لاہور میں چھپا۔ یہ اردو زبان میں پہلا تذکرہ ہے جو تفصیل کے ساتھ لکھا گیا۔ لطف یہ ہے کہ اردو میں اسی نام سے ایک اور تذکرہ حیدر بخش حیدری نے بھی تحیری ہے لیکن وہ مختصر اور غیر معلوماتی ہے۔
