In the independent states of Africa the human rights situation has never promising. The present piece of work is divided into eight chapters. First chapter deals with the introduction. Sixth chapter deals with social dimensions and Human Rights. Seventh chapter deals with the Bill of Rights. Concluding remarks have been made in chapter eighth which also attempt of envisage a better future for Human Rights in Africa. About The Author:- Meena Anand was born in the year 1974 and presently she is teaching as a Political Science lecture in Laxmibai College, Delhi University. She completed her Graduation and Post Graduation in Political Science from Ramjas College, Delhi University. In continuation of her academic career she completed her M. Phil form the Department of African Studies, Faculty of Arts, Delhi University, and her topic of research was The Role of Political Party in New South Africa. Presently she is pursuing her Ph. D in/from the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi and her topic of research is A Study of Dalit Legislature in Uttar Pradesh Assembly, 1997-2002. Meena has taught at different colleges of Delhi University like Zakhir Hussain, Post Graduated Evening College, D.U., Vivekanand College, D.U. She has also taught at IGNOU, centre at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, D.U. Since 2001 to 2004 she has taught at the various centres of Non Collegiate Women Education Board.
