Shwaspane

“श्वासपाने’ वाचताना राहीच्या मनात लिहिते क्षणी प्रवाह जिथे जिथे वळत होता तिथे तिथे त्यानं तो वळू दिला. त्या प्रवाहातलं पाणी इतकं नितळ होतं. इतकं चपळ होतं की त्या प्रवाहातल्या पाण्याने मधेच कुठल्या खडकावरून कुठल्या झाडावरून कुठल्या डोंगरावरून कुठे उडी मारली, याचंही त्याला भान नव्हतं. ‘श्वासपाने’ वाचता वाचता आपण अनेक सिनेमे, अनेक व्यक्तिरेखा, अनेक पुस्तकं, अनेक आठवणी, अनेक कोट्स, अनेक घटनांनी झिगझॅग फिरत राहतो. पण एकदा त्या झिगझॅगमध्ये बसल्यावर आपण कितीही गरगरलो, कितीही गुदमरलो, कितीही घाबरलो तरी आपल्याला मधेच उतरता येत नाही… राहीमध्ये आणि वाचणाऱ्यांमध्ये वाचता वाचता सुटत गेलेल्या आणि निर्माण झालेल्या रिकाम्या जागांचा अर्थ म्हणजे ‘श्वासपाने’ असावं. ‘श्वासपाने’ वाचणं हा एक सर्जनशील अनुभव आहे, हे मी खात्रीनं सांगू शकतो.

It was so swift that he did not even know where the water in that stream jumped from which rock, which tree, which mountain. While reading 'Shwasapane', we zigzag through many movies, many characters, many books, many memories, many quotes, many events. But once we sit in that zigzag, no matter how much we grunt, no matter how suffocated, no matter how scared we are, we can't get down in the middle... The empty spaces that are left and created between the living and the readers should mean 'breathing'. I can say with certainty that reading 'Shwaspaane' is a creative experience.
