सकीना’ हा वसंत बापट यांचा चौथा कवितासंग्रह. बापटांच्या कवितेचा विकास या संग्रहात प्रकर्षाने जाणवतो. राजकीय किंवा कलाविषयक विचारप्रणालीच्या कुठल्याही साच्यात बापटांची कविता कधीच अडकून पडली नाही. कलावादी भूमिकेचा अतिरेक पत्करून तिने सामाजिक राजकीय जाणिवेला निषिद्ध मानले नाही आणि सामाजिक जाणिवेची आंधळी बांधीलकी स्वीकारून आपला कलात्मक दर्जाही ढळू दिला नाही. बापटांची कविता आपल्या अनुभवाशी, अंतः प्रेरणेशी सतत इमान राखीत आली आणि हेच तिच्या विकासाचे, सामर्थ्याचे खरे केंद्र ठरले. Sakina' is Vasant Bapat's fourth poetry collection. The development of Bapat's poetry is strongly felt in this collection. Bapat's poetry has never been trapped in any mold of political or artistic thinking. She did not consider socio-political awareness to be taboo by overstepping the role of an artist and did not allow her artistic status to deteriorate by accepting a blind commitment to social awareness. Bapat's poetry was constantly faithful to his experience and inspiration and this became the real center of his development and power.
