मधु, शमा, श्रीनिवास, फर्नांडिस, प्रबोधचंद, दोड्डाण्णा… एका क्रांतिकारक पक्षाच्या कार्याच्या निमित्ताने एकत्र आलेल्या या व्यक्ती, मनस्वी-तेजस्वी-दुबळ्या-कणखर, या ना त्या कारणाने या पक्षापासून दूर दूर जातात. निरनिराळ्या मार्गांनी. पण तरी ते मार्ग अधूनमधून एकमेकांना छेदतात – स्पर्शतात… त्या साऱ्यांच्या वाटचालीतल्या अर्थपूर्ण धगधगत्या स्पंदनांचा घेतलेला हा वेध- नववाङ्मयातही विक्रमशाली ठरणारा, इतका मोठा आवाका आहे त्याचा की अवघ्या शंभर पृष्ठांत हे सारे कसे सामावले हेच कोडे पडावे. परंतु ‘रंग’ या आपल्या पहिल्याच कथासंग्रहात मराठी नवकथेचा एक नवा टप्पा गाठणाऱ्या लेखिकेची ही कृती आहे हे कळल्यावर ते कोडे थोडेफार उलगडावे. Madhu, Shama, Srinivasa, Fernandes, Prabodhchand, Doddanna… These persons who came together for the cause of a revolutionary party, the hearty-brilliant-weak-stubborn, drift away from this party for one reason or another. in various ways. But still, those paths occasionally cross each other - touch each other... This observation of the meaningful burning vibrations in the course of all of them - which is a record even in the ninth novel, has such a large scope that it is a puzzle how all this is contained in just one hundred pages. But knowing that this is the work of a writer who has reached a new stage of Marathi novel in her first collection of stories called 'Rang', the puzzle should be solved a little.
