About The Book: ‘Is justice’ conceived as a quality of exhibiting moral excellence or stand for the morally correct state of persons and affairs?What is the sense of being just or unjust? Why should I be just? What ought I to do or not to do for my enlightenment or my ignorance? Is hatred can be fight with compassion or discrimination with recognition and respect? How can we remove the chain of sufferings and reaches at the stage of enlightenment? How far the path of enlightenment and morality ensures justice? In order to address these questions, the book- Justice as Enlightenment and Morality focuses on the ethical dimension of justice which begins and ends with human being whereby a ‘just man’ connotes not only that he/she ought to be good in the social sense, but most importantly be good to his/her self, which is an ‘enlighten and moral awakening’ and sense of ‘discipline the mind and soul’, so that he/she can achieve the ultimate happiness or eudaimonia in a multi-cultural pluralistic society like India. It explores Plato, Aristotle and Immanuel Kant’s conception of cardinal virtues, duty, eudaemonia, enlightenment rationality and morality in order to substantiate the notion of justice. Besides, it examines the nature of justice with reference to enlightenment in general and specifically its practice of ‘morality’, ‘meditation’ and ‘wisdom’ of Gautama Buddhain promoting just person and just society. This book offers an insight on the relevance of normative justice in the light of our contemporary debates on the conception of justice and how humanity understands their relations with one another.It provides a vision that how to build a just society where each person becomes enlighten and moral to transform oneself and inculcates the virtue of love, compassion, equality and tolerance to live peacefully by accepting and respecting others dignity to live and get along with others.
