About the Book:-This concise book has compiled from a collection of articles which appeared in the ‘Daily Gazette’ (Karachi) or ‘Times of India’. It is a collection of 20 folk tales from the Sindh and Gujarat regions. They are reprinted with the kind permission of the editors. The author does not claim for them any merit beyond the fact that they touch the fringe of an unexplored country. His hope is that they will lead others more competent than he is and with greater opportunities than he has had to delve into the vast treasures of folklore possessed by the province of Sind. The four Gujarati stories have been added, because they come from different part of India, they are still folk tales and belong to the same category as the Sind tales. It also reveals that God needed opposition to make him realize His almighty strength. To give God fill possession of it, Satan sacrificed himself and rebelled, although he knew that he would thereafter ne punished eternally. Beginning with an invocation in favour of Satan, this book is a reprint of the 1924 edition. About the Author:-C.A. Kincaid CVO (1870–1954) co-authored with Dattatray Balwant Parasnis, the History of the Maratha People in three volumes. He was a high court judge in colonial India and a prolific author. He was educated at Sherborne. His son, Dennis Kincaid, was also a civil servant, author of two novels and the historical study British Social Life in India, 1608–1937.
