The British Government had adorned him with the ‘Rai Bahadur’ title in 1921 and with D.Litt by the Calcutta University in recognition of pioneering work in this field. His publications include Mymensingh Geetika, Eastern Bengal Ballads – Vols. 1-4, Bengali Ramayan Chaitanya and his Age and so on.
