The University Grants Commission (Government of India) New Delhi, has bestowed on him the University Grants Commission - Swamy Pranavananda Saraswati National Award in Economics for the year 2003 in recognition of his outstanding scholarly contribution in the field of Applied Econometrics. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has conferred the State level Best Teacher Award - 2006 for his outstanding services. He has been nominated as Member of the Executive Council of Osmania University by the Government of Andhra Prades.
