Ek Hota Gaza

तुर्की भाषेतील लोकप्रिय तरुण लेखक हकन गुंदे यांच्या ‘दाहा’ या गाजलेल्या कादंबरीचा ‘एक होता गाझा’ हा मराठी अनुवाद आहे. या कादंबरीचा नायक गाझा हा अत्यंत हुशार, चुणचुणीत मुलगा. मात्र वयाच्या नवव्या वर्षापासून आपल्या वडिलांच्या मानवी तस्करीच्या बेकायदेशीर व्यवसायात गाझा मनाविरुद्ध ओढला जातो. या क्रूर चक्रातून सुटकेची स्वप्न पाहणाऱ्या गाझाच्या आयुष्याची लेखकाने ह्या कादंबरीतून मांडलेली फरफट वाचकाला सुन्न करते. मूळ कादंबरीचा प्रवाहीपणा कायम राखणारा प्रभावी अनुवाद उल्का राऊत यांनी केला आहे. हकन गुंदे यांनी अगदी वेगळाच विषय या कादंबरीच्या माध्यामातून वाचकांसमोर आणला असून एक विदारक सत्य मनाला अस्वस्थ करते. 'Ek Hota Gaza' is the Marathi translation of popular young Turkish writer Hakan Gunde's famous novel 'Daha'. The hero of this novel, Gaza, is a very intelligent, smart boy. But from the age of nine, Gaza is reluctantly dragged into his father's illegal human trafficking business. The author's description of the life of Gazans who dream of escape from this cruel cycle in this novel numbs the reader. Ulka Raut has done an effective translation that maintains the fluidity of the original novel. Hakan Gunde has brought a completely different subject to the readers through this novel and a shocking truth disturbs the mind.
