Eho Hamara Jeevna

The narrative centers on Bhano, a woman from a destitute farming family in rural Punjab. In her village, women are often commodified and traded for money. Bhano's father arranges her marriage to Sarban, a resident of Moranwalli village, effectively selling her. Post-marriage, Bhano endures relentless harassment and abuse, not only from her husband but also from his four unmarried brothers and his friends. Following Sarban's death, her plight worsens as her father attempts to sell her again to Sarban's brothers. In a desperate bid for freedom, Bhano attempts suicide but is saved by a man named Narain, who accepts her as his wife without offering her social recognition. Trapped in a patriarchal society, Bhano's aspirations remain unfulfilled.
