Director, Multani Mal Modi Post-Graduate College, Patiala has been formely Principal of this College for 2 years, Head, Department of Social Sciences, Govt. College of Education, Patiala for 26 years and Head, Deptt. of maths, D.S.S.D. High School, Jalandhar for 13 years. He has been the Chairman, Sports Committee, Member Syndicate, Senate, Academic Council, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Board of Studies in Education, Punjabi University, Patiala. He has also been the Executive Member of Non-Government Colleges, Management Federation, Punjab and Chandigarh. Prof. Dhiman had his first encounter with Gandhiji when he read a book about his life that was given as a gift by his mother on his tenth Birth Day. Later, he made a deep study of Gandhiji for his M.Ed. Dissertation in 1964. He continued to pursue intensive study of Gandhiji and published his first book on Gandhhiji during Gandhi Centenary year.
