"Asrar-ul-Haq Majaz, popularly known as Majaz, was among the most celebrated and influential poets of Urdu literature. Born in 1911 in the town of Rudauli, Uttar Pradesh, he developed his poetic identity within the literary and intellectual atmosphere of Aligarh and soon became one of the most admired poets among the youth of his time. His contemporaries included distinguished literary figures such as Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Sahir Ludhianvi, and Ali Sardar Jafri, yet Majaz stood apart because of his unique style and immense popularity.
