He returned to India and joined the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore as an Assistant Professor. He lives on the banks of River Alaknanda. He has been actively involved in conservation of river Ganga. He has filed a number of cases before the High Courts, Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal on the subject.He has undertaken extensive studies of economic thought of ancient India. He has written about 15 books on various subjects relating to ancient Indian thought and economics. He writes a weekly column on political economy which is published in about 50 newspapers in five languages in India.
