ABOUT THE BOOK:- The Grammar of Hindudom lays out the historical and philosophical framework of Hindudom, the only ideology indigenous to India and Asia. Few in the world appear to know this, leave alone appreciate it. There are also those who reckon that the ideology of Hindudom is the only one — if accepted by those who have the ability to influence the course of events — that can achieve enduring peace on earth. The basic purpose of this book is to explain why this would be so. The Grammar of Hindudom also seeks to engage a very contentious term at the root of much of the disquiet prevalent today—secularism. The credo of secularism, which has its origins in Europe, means the separation of the Church from the State. The book offers the reader a glimpse brief into the Abrahamic family of religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and their fourth sibling, Marxism, and how they have shaped human history with all their attendant consequences. Unlike these, Hinduism does not have a founder, a single prophet or any single holy book. Hindudom, which loosely means the Hindu way of life, is the way a polity can or ought to govern itself. A closely corresponding term is Christendom. Hindudom is not confined to modes of religious worship or social norms and customs. It encompasses the entire gamut of politics and governance. Hindudom is arguably the only ideology that has the capability to not only end global conflict but help human beings achieve the goal of self-actualization, which alone can bring about true inner peace. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Born in Bombay on 27 March 1937, Prafull Goradia is a specialist of the tea industry, having worked with the biggest tea-brokers in the world and later in his own business. He later made the conscious and resolute decision to quit a comfortable existence to enter the uncertain world of politics, his real passion and constant calling since his adolescence. Elected to Parliament in 1998, as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he intervened in several important matters that came up for discussion, making several significant speeches on contemporary issues, participating in debates and contributing to policy making. Prafull Goradia has penned several books: Profiles of Tea, Dear Editor, The Saffron Book, Hindu Masjids, Muslim League's Unfinished Agenda, Anti-Hindus and Saga of Indian Tea, Fly me to the Moon (Bloomsbury India), Krishna Rajya (Bloomsbury India), Saffron Awakening, Had Patel been Prime Minister, Jinnah Helped Hindus, Population Exchange. He has also written over 500 articles on issues of both national and global significance. His letters to editors of national dailies, numbering over 2,800, are useful for transporting contemporary readers over a period of modern India's political journey. He presides over The Indian School in Delhi, which has earned a reputation for offering modern education entwined with traditional Indian ethos. CONTENTS 1. Why this book?. 7 2.
