After completing graduation in arts from Kashmir University, he carried out successfully master and doctorate courses in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Afterwards, he a worked in Jammu and Kashmir government as Assistant Director, Social Welfare and Press Officer to Chief Minister. Professor B. A. Dabla started his academic career in 1984 from Department of Sociology, Aligarh Muslim University. Subsequently, he shifted to University of Kashmir, Srinagar in 1989, where he established the Department of Sociology and enlarged it to Social Work in 2003. Professor B. A.
