Marathi Riyasat

मराठ्यांच्या इतिहासाला प्रेरणा देणाऱ्या अगदी आरंभाच्या काळापासून एकोणिसाव्या शतकाच्या दुसऱ्या दशकाच्या अखेरपर्यंत, म्हणजे सुमारे दोनशे वर्षांचा इतिहास रियासतकार गोविंद सखाराम सरदेसाई यांनी मराठी रियासतीमधून निवेदन केला आहे. दोनशे वर्षांच्या राजकारणाचा, राज्यकर्त्यांचा आणि राजकीय चढ-उतारांचा मराठ्यांचा इतिहास घडविण्यामागे मराठ्यांची स्वराज्य स्थापना आणि त्या स्वराज्याचा देशभर साम्राज्यविस्तार करणाऱ्या अनेक शूरवीरांचे पराक्रम होते, अनेक मुत्सद्यांची कामगिरी होती. तत्कालीन मोगल सत्तेला निस्तेज करून जवळ जवळ सर्व देशभर मराठ्यांनी आपल्या राज्याची पताका फडकवली. ही त्यांची बहु‌मोल कामगिरी विस्तारपूर्वक नोंदण्याचे काम मराठी रियासतीत रियासतकारांनी केले. मराठेशाहीच्या उदय, उत्कर्ष, ऱ्हास आणि अस्ताचा हा समग्र इतिहास मराठी रियासतीच्या आठ खंडामध्ये सविस्तर मांडला आहे. From the very beginning that inspired the history of the Marathas to the end of the second decade of the nineteenth century, i.e. about two hundred years of history, statesman Govind Sakharam Sardesai has narrated from the Marathi princely state. The Maratha history of two hundred years of politics, rulers and political ups and downs was behind the establishment of Maratha self-rule and the feat of many knights who expanded the empire of that self-rule across the country, the achievements of many diplomats.
