About the Book - Along with his poetry, Jaun Elia's legacy remains immortal. Through his poetry, Jaun Elia communicates with his listeners, which is why he continues to live in his words even today and will always remain. This book is a collection of Jaun Elia's unpublished works, filled with new themes and fresh meanings. Efforts have been made in this book to preserve his unpublished poems for the readers.

About the Author - Jaun Elia was born in 1931 in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, into a learned family. His father, Syed Shafiq Hasan Elia, was a poor poet and scholar. Jaun's early education took place in Amroha's madrasas, where he learned Urdu, Arabic, and Persian. He was never interested in textbooks and often failed his exams. As he grew older, he developed an interest in Philosophy. He earned Master's degrees in Urdu, Persian, and Philosophy. He also knew English, Pahlavi, Hebrew, Sanskrit, and French. In his youth, he was drawn to communism. After the partition, his elder brother moved to Pakistan. After the death of his parents, Jaun Elia had to go to Pakistan in 1956, though reluctantly, and throughout his life, he remembered Amroha and India.

Jaun Elia is a great poet not just because his poetry meets the criteria established by centuries-old literary traditions and critical standards, but because the subjects he explored—emotional and psychological conditions of human beings—are unmatched in the tradition of Urdu poetry. His verses on these themes are unique in the realm of Urdu poetry.

About the Compiler/Editor - Khalid Ahmad Ansari is renowned for his literary contributions, particularly in compiling the scattered works of modern Urdu poet Jaun Elia. His firm commitment to preserving and presenting Jaun Elia's literary heritage has earned him significant recognition. Born and raised in Karachi, Ansari's academic background includes MBA degrees in General Management and Human Resources. Despite pursuing a career in the private sector, he has shown a deep interest in literature, making significant contributions to the compilation of Jaun Elia’s poetry, one of the most important poets of our time. Ansari's close friendship with Jaun Elia from 1991 until the poet's death in 2002 has drawn comparisons to the friendship between Max Brod and Franz Kafka, highlighting his crucial role in ensuring that Jaun Elia's literary legacy is passed on to future generations.
