زیر نظر کتاب سرسید نے سر ولیم میور کی تصنیف "لائف آف محمد" کے جواب میں لکھی تھی۔ متعصب عیسائی مؤرخ ولیم میور نے اپنی کتاب "دی لائف آف محمد" میں اسلام اور آں حضورصلعم کے حالات کو توڑ مروڑ کر پیش کیا تو انھوں نے اس کا جواب لکھنے کے لیے انگلستان کا سفر کیا اور غیر معمولی تکالیف برداشت کرکے "خطبات احمدیہ" تصنیف کی، جس میں نہایت علمی وتحقیقی انداز میں اس کی علمی بد دیانیتوں کا جواب دیا۔ اس کتاب میں ولیم میور کے ساتھ ساتھ بہت سے دیگر عیسائی مؤرخین کے خیالات کا بھی ذکر کیا ہے۔ اس کتاب میں سرسید نے جہاد کے موضوع پر تفصیل سے لکھا ہے اور دلائل سے ثابت کیا کہ اسلام اپنے عقائد، کسی پر جبراً عائد نہیں کرتا،اس کتاب کا نام "الخطبات الاحمدیہ فی العرب والسیرت المحمدیہ" ہے۔ اس کتاب کی اشاعت نے یورپ بالخصوص برطانیہ میں اسلام ، حضرت محمد مصطفی اور مسلمانوں کے بارے میں بہت سارے ابہام دور کیے اور یورپین عوام کے لیے اسلام کا فلسفہ سمجھنے میں بہت معاون ثابت ہوئی۔ نیز مسلمانوں میں بھی اس کتاب کی اشاعت سے خوشی کی لہر دوڑ گئی اور مسلمان جو جدید تعلیم اور انگریز سرکار کی نوکری ترک کر رہے تھے وہ تعلیم اور نوکریوں کی طرف پلٹنے لگے۔
