As observed by Diksha Kharbanda, there's been a shift in writing; from mere copying of the text, writing for improvement in handwriting skills and attaining punctuational accuracy to writing for expressing and communicating ideas, thoughts and a more meaningful engagement with writing. Aiming at supporting the practitioners to fist familiarise themselves with the existing scenerio, the shift and strategies to bring the shift in actual classroom practices too, this third resource book discusses "Children's writing" or "the ideas related to teaching children to express and communicate in a way that is meaningful and relevant to them" (Sinha, 2020). A compilation of nine pieces dvelving into the topics such as; Development of writing skills in children, Writing and Talk, Assessment of children's writing etc. The cherry on top is the curated and annotated list of resources on teaching and learning of the script and of selective resources for practitioners. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________What are Resource Books? Comprised of five Resource books and seven Practitioner briefs, this set consists of writings on themes ranging from decoding, comprehension to multi-lingual education and the use of children’s literature in classrooms, exploring various aspects of language learning and early literacy in India.
