Celebration…

१९९१ ते २००० या दशकात ‘चारचौघी’, ‘ध्यानीमनी’ आणि ‘चाहूल’ अशी तीन महत्त्वाची नाटके देणाऱ्या प्रशांत दळवी यांचे हे नवीन नाटक. नाटककार प्रशांत दळवी यांना मानवी नातेसंबंध, मानवी मूल्ये, त्यांचे विश्लेषण, चिरफाड, नैतिकता – अनैतिकता, भोवतालचे बदलत जाणारे वास्तव आणि ते स्वीकारताना वा नाकारताना माणसाची होणारी फरफट… या गोष्टींचे नेहमीच कुतूहल वाटत आलेले आहे. किंबहुना तोच कायम त्यांच्या चिंतन आणि सर्जनाचा विषय झालेला दिसतो. त्यांच्या प्रत्येक नाटकात काहीतरी नवा समकालीन विषय येतो. तोही त्याकडे पाहण्याच्या त्यांच्या वेगळ्या दृष्टिकोनासह ! ‘सेलिब्रेशन’ हे आजचे… या क्षणाचे दाहक वास्तव मांडणारे… लेखकाच्या सूक्ष्म सामाजिक निरीक्षणांमुळे समकालीन मूल्य प्राप्त झालेले… सुन्न व अंतर्मुख करणारे असे नाटक आहे. लेखक प्रशांत दळवी यांनी यातले प्रत्येक पात्र हे त्याचा त्याचा स्वभाव व्यक्त होण्याच्या पध्दती घेऊन येईल, यागेल-बोलेल याची दक्षता घेतली आहे. त्यामुळे एक अकृत्रिम अनौपचारिकपणा त्यांच्या संवाद भाषेत आलेला आहे आणि संहितेला प्रयोगमूल्यांबरोबरच साहित्यमूल्यही प्राप्त झालेले आहे.

एकमेकांपासून तुटत चाललेल्या आणि त्यामुळे कायम अस्थिर, अस्वस्थतेची भावना घेऊन जगणाऱ्या आजच्या माणसाचे हे नाटक आहे. ते पाहताना भयंकर बेचैन कायला होते. अखिल भारतीय मराठी नाट्यपरिषदेतर्फे उत्कृष्ट नाट्यलेखनासाठी देण्यात येणारा गो. ब. देवल पुरस्कार या वर्षी प्रशांत दळवी यांना मिळणे हाही एकप्रकारे ‘सेलिब्रेशन’ या नाटकाच्या गुणवत्तेचाच गौरव आहे. This new play by Prashant Dalvi, who gave three important plays in the decade of 1991 to 2000 namely 'Charchaughi', 'Dhyanimani' and 'Chahool'. Playwright Prashant Dalvi has always been curious about human relationships, human values, their analysis, destruction, morality-immorality, changing reality around and man's hesitation in accepting or rejecting it. In fact, it seems to have always been the subject of his thinking and creativity. In each of his plays there is some new contemporary subject. That too with their different view of it! 'Celebration' is a drama of today... the burning reality of the moment... given contemporary value by the writer's subtle social observations... numbing and introspective. Author Prashant Dalvi has taken care that each character will bring his own way of expressing his nature, speak and speak. Hence an artificial informality has come into their colloquial language and the code has acquired literary as well as experimental value.

It is a drama of today's man who is torn apart from each other and thus lives with a constant sense of instability and restlessness. Kayla was terribly restless watching it. Award given by All India Marathi Theater Council for best play writing. b. Prashant Dalvi getting the Deval Award this year is also a tribute to the quality of the play 'Celebration'.
