This book is closely looking at two aspect caste and gender issues and challenges in contemporary India. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Dr. Anji A is working in the Department and Research Centre for Women's Studies, Karnatak University, Dharwad. He completed his M.Phil (Women's Studies) in Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India and he obtained his Ph.D. (Women's Studies) from the Centre for Women's Studies, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul, India. He was awarded Doctoral Fellowship from Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. He worked as a Project Co-ordinator and Project Fellow in the Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension, Gandhigram Rural Institute He has published more than 20 research paper in national and international journals and 53 research papers have been presented in international and national conference. He has edited more than 5 books and he published a book in Tamil. He was invited from different educational institutions to deliver special lecture on women's issues and challenges. His research paper has been selected as the best paper presentation entitled 'Health Care Services in Tamil Nadu: A Model for Other States' in the National Seminar on “Social Transition: Issues and Challenges”. He guided more than 20 dissertations to M.A as well as P.G. Diploma students. Dr. A. RANJITH KUMAR is currently working in the Department of Women's Studies, Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu, India. He worked as a researcher and teacher in various Indian Universities. He obtained his M.A in Development Administration, Bachelor of Physical Education, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Labour Law, Master of Population Studies and Ph.D. from different Indian Universities. He qualified the National Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor in Human Rights and Duties, Political Science, and Public Administration conducted by University Grants Commission, Government of India. He was awarded Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Postdoctoral Fellowship in Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages) for the year 2014-15 from University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Government of India. His main research interests are in the areas of DalitStudies and Development Administration. His various research papers have been published in leading professional journals. He has participated in various training programmes at the National level. He has presented research papers at many national as well as international conferences. He has been an active member in the various committees and associations in India and abroad.
