Portions have been re-written or discussed and the matter in general re-arranged to include the Sources of the Hindu Law and the works of authority according to the different Schools. The importance of Benami transactions, which form part of the Hindu Law in order to assist in the determination as to what property belongs to a joint family, at least in cases of partition, cannot be overrated, and consequently a separate chapter has been devoted to the subject.
